Indiana Core Curriculum - Awesome site with completed maps. Features Vocab from the Core Curriculum for Math

The National Science Foundation in conjunction with PBS has created a data base of videos, lesson plans, etc. that line up with the Common Core Standards. You get seven resources before you have to register (also free as far as I can tell) but everything looked good. Once on the teacher's domain, you will search by standard. Then select "CCSS" NOT Ohio, this it to get to the Common Core not the Ohio Academic Content Standards. They select if you want to view Math or Language Arts under document. This will send you to a database of resources divided by area (The Number System, Geometry, etc.) and there are many resources divided by grade level. Hope this helps in your upcoming planning. :-D

Funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. These English Language Arts Maps were created by teams of K-12 public school teachers. They are free of charge.

Curriculum Mapping: A School-Wide Plan for Integrating Curriculum and Assessment in Grades K-12
Heidi Hayes Jacobs will be presenting in Columbus in April about how to map the Core Curriculum. This two day presentation includes how to tie assessment to the standards and close the student achievement gap. This looks to be a great resource with a lot of valuable information.

Common Core Standards

The State Board of Education has adopted the Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics as well as the revisions to Ohio’s academic content standards in science and social studies. The standards will be effective when newly aligned assessments are implemented in 2014-2015.

The State Department of Education developed a document to help bridge the transition between the Academic Content Standards and the Core Curriculum. Comparisons are given by grade level. View the crosswalk here.

BrainHoney- A classroom management software that is similar to Progress Book. It has several tools that allow you to create online quizzes, keep track of grades and standards mapping. You are able to create a free individual account to see what BrainHoney offers. If we choose to go with BrianHoney, we would purchase a site license that would allow collaboration between teachers and would give students access to online material. The cost for this program is undetermined. Below is BrainHoney's description of their curriculum mapping.

Standards Mapping
Use our drag-and-drop mapping feature to quickly align new or existing courses to state or school standards. Instant alignment reporting will highlight course strengths and weaknesses.

Google Sites- Online based website that allows you to upload documents correlated to each standard. Offers collaboration among teachers. A basic table can be uploaded for each standard, this can be customized to fit each teacher or subject. This program would be free to the district.

The reports generated from the maps allow teachers to review what is taught, when it is taught, and to what depth it is taught.
